The Westlawn neighborhood is a part of Fairfax County, Virginia. Fairfax County provides most but not all of the local services to the Westlawn neighborhood. Here are some services and how to connect with the correct agency for requests.
Fairfax County enforces subjects like blight, hoarding, unpermitted construction, multiple occupancy dwellings, property maintenance, and outdoor storage. These topics are only investigated upon submittal, and so neighborhood issues should be submitted online, here:

County Board
Fairfax County has an elected Board of Supervisors. The Board includes one member for each of 9 Magisterial Districts and an at-large Chair. Westlawn lies within the Mason District.

Parks
Fairfax County has many great parks near the Westlawn community.

NOVA Parks is a regional authority that manages parks like the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) trail, and many more that you may access for free as a County resident.
Libraries
The Thomas Jefferson Library is just west of Westlawn and is one of many branches of the extensive Fairfax County Library system.
Litter

Fairfax County Public Schools educates more than 180,000 students each year, including right here in Westlawn
The local elementary school, Westlawn Elementary is a quick walk from anywhere within our neighborhood. https://westlawnes.fcps.edu/
The local Middle School is Luther Jackson Middle School https://jacksonms.fcps.edu/
Falls Church High School is our local HS, https://fallschurchhs.fcps.edu/, and is in the Broyhill Park neighborhood just west of Westlawn.
Streets and Sidewalks
The Virginia Department of Transportation maintains all roads and sidewalks in Westlawn.
Problems like potholes, heaving or cracked sidewalks, and other road repair requests should be identified for VDOT by submitting to https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/.

Streetlights

Trash
Waste hauling is provided by Fairfax County within the Westlawn neighborhood. Pickup is on Thursday. Information about their services is here: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/publicworks/recycling-trash/county-collection-customers
Bulk pickups up to 2 cubic yards are FREE up to 5 times per year - but must be scheduled with the Special Pickup service online: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/publicworks/recycling-trash/county-collection-customers/special-pick-up
Yard Waste
Yard waste pickup is included in our Fairfax County service. Separate yard waste into paper bags (plastic is illegal for yard waste) or a separate bin for pickup between March 1 and December 24.
Annual vacuum leaf collection is included. Watch for Fairfax County mailers and signs at neighborhood announcing several pickup days in the late fall and early winter.
Water Service
Water is provided by the Fairfax County Water Authority (Fairfax Water). FW is distinct from Fairfax County government and must be contacted separately. Visit them at https://www.fairfaxwater.org/ to start or stop service or report a leak. Your Fairfax County sewer bill is delivered by Fairfax Water and varies based on your water usage.
